Ubon Ratchathani National Museum

The Ubon branch of the Thailand national museum system is housed in the old city hall building, originally constructed in 1918. A new city hall was built in the late 1960s. The old building was restored and opened as a museum in 1989.

While the museum is small, it still contains a fairly complete and wide ranging collection, covering much of the history and culture of the area. Of particular interest are probably the small collection of Thai-Lao religious images and the textile displays.

Admission to the museum is 100 Baht (3.25 USD). It is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from Wednesdays to Sundays. Allow about one hour to comfortably see the exhibits.
